HELLO!

Hi there! I’m Shelley, an illustrator based in Dorchester, right on the beautiful Jurassic Coast. I specialize in children's book illustration and absolutely love bringing stories to life with my art. When I’m not creating illustrations, you’ll often find me outside, drawing inspiration from the nature that surrounds me—whether it’s the coastal cliffs, the woodland trails, or the wildlife in my own garden.

I live here with my partner, two daughters, a crazy dog, a very loud cat, and a tortoise who loves to nap in the sun.

I hold an MA in Sequential Design and Illustration, and I’m always excited to experiment with new techniques and ways of bringing stories and characters to life. I’m passionate about using my creativity to engage and inspire young readers, and I love how art can spark curiosity and wonder in children.

Fun facts: I used to be in an all-girl punk band, I worked for a while as a magicians assistant and I collect animal skulls, which might sound a little strange, but I find them fascinating and love natural history.
